In Florida, a bicycle is legally defined as a vehicle. It has all the privileges, rights, and responsibilities of a motor vehicle operator on public roads (except for expressways). It must obey all traffic controls and signals.

FHP remembers Chelsea Richard, who died in the line of duty on May 3, 2014. Trooper Richard died in the line of duty as a result of a vehicle crash. At the time of her death, Trooper Richard was 30 years old and had served the residents of Florida for 9 years. #FHP
